Moulded in raised relief with face of Bes- outstanding detail, covered in a white wash & features decorated with dark purple paint. All original paint. White wash stained with a desert patina. Very rare in such high quality. Intact with no restoration or repairs.

A superb Indus Valley clay figure of a mother goddess wearing an elaborately arranged headdress and broad collar necklace. The facial features defined with beak shaped nose and button shaped eyes, the genitalia and breasts are also clearly defined and an incised line separates the legs. Portrayed with arms outstretched.
