A superb Attic Black-Glazed stemmed pottery Kylix with extensive root deposits. Attic pottery surpassed that of all other centres, both in its craftsmanship and in the quality of its brilliant orange-red clay. Whilst Athens is most famous for its decorated ware, both black-figure and red-figure, its potters also produced many undecorated pieces with a black glaze. A rare Campanian, Osci culture terracotta votive head with two opposing faces. A mythological ancient representation similar to the later Roman Janus head, one face looking forward into future the other into the past.
