Ancient Roman bronze surgical instruments in frame
A superb set of six Roman bronze surgical instruments, comprising of four small spoon tools, a small scalpel and a blunt ended rod. All show a remarkably spectacular dark green patina, better than most generally offered on the market and guaranteed genuine. Mounted in this lovely frame with brass identification tag. Would look lovely hanging in a Doctors surgery, home or office, guaranteed to compliment any collection.

Dating to circa 2nd-3rd century AD.

Frame measures 42cm diameter, 39cm height. Longest instrument 20.5cm length.

Ex-London art market, previously in a private Belgium collection.

Beware of modern reproductions of Roman era surgical instruments, particularly on eBay. They are one of the most reproduced Roman bronze artefacts on the market.
