A rare Eurasian / Steppe culture gold plaque in repousse, depicting a warrior wearing breast plate and armoury belt, his right arm raised and body leaning back as if in a spear throwing pose. Beautiful large plaque with nice red patina. Such plaques adorned clothing and headwear etc of the aristocracy. Similar plaques from the Kul-Opa treasure can be seen in the Hermitage museum Russia. Comes with featured display stand. Dating to circa 400-300 BC, Scythia. Measures 7.6cm height / 10.5cm height on display stand. Ex-the collection of Dr C Gallanos, Melbourne Australia.
