Ancient Urartu impressive bronze military belt
A beautifully mounted Urartu bronze military belt, fragmental but complete original belt. Decorated in chased relief with a series of bulls, griffin figures and floral motifs separated by twisted branches. Beautifully presented on a lovely display stand. The belt length suggest it was probably fitted to a young warrior.

Dating to circa 8th-7th century BC, Urartu, modern day Armenia.

belt measures 72.5cm length / 75cm length display stand.

Ex-Axel Guttman Collection, Ex-Herman Historica Germany, Ex-London art market, Ex-Chris Bowman collection Sydney Australia.
